Sports Camp

Hello, my name is Matthew Baker. I am and have been involved at my
Church camp for as long I can remember. The camp is called Kirkmont center and is located in Zanesfield, OH. It is a place where kids from all over can come and be with friends and have a great time rejoicing. This year I have the privelage of planning one of the camps, sports camp.
The idea I have with sports camp is to have the children be taught, shown, and get a feel for sports they would not normally be exposed to. I have never really been exposed to Rugby, but have always been fascinated and wanted to play. I want the kids to know what is out there besides the normal basketball, football, and soccer.
I am very aware this is extremely late notice. I had a coach that said she would come and would love to spread the sport. I have not heard from her in a month and she will not respond to my emails. I am taking that as she does not want to participate in this opportunity.
I would really appreciate if you would be willing to come to Kirkmont and share some of your knowledge with the kids. The camp is a week long from July 29th- aug. 3rd. I am asking for the morning of July 30th. We will have the kids in teams and they will be on a two sport rotation. There would be two different groups of kids for an hour and fifteen minutes each. I believe Monday is from 915-1030 then 1045-12. There is lunch after that if the coaches and or kids coming to help participate would like to partake.
I would like the kids to learn a little about the sport, how it is played, and play a little themselves. Several years ago we had part of a high school lacrosse team come. There was the coach and a few kids. They brought a net and some sticks. The kids seemed to have a great time shooting on the goalie, and passing the ball around. I think the kids at sports camp would love to see and play some Rugby. It has never been brought to Kirkmont, and I think it needs to be.
I appreciate you taking the time to read this. I look forward hearing from you. Thank you again.
Matthew
